The first I remember seeing was at a Friday night high school football game. There must have been a helluva lot of large meteors hitting our atmosphere and lighting up, because we could see them in spite of the ambient light.
Around here, we missed the Perseids show last August because of the cloudy overcast, but this month we're getting a chance at seeing the Draconids and Orionids! Woo woo!
The Draconids are showing up right now. Tonight is supposed to be the best for viewing. So, if you like God's light shows and you're awake tonight around midnight, go take a look.
Then October 20 and 21 we may be able to watch the Orionids. Again, the show starts about midnight.
